The OneTail Extreme is the newest addition to Craft&Ride's lineup of concave foot pads for Onewheel. It is the product of 3 years of constant development. Craft&Ride has continuously improved the OneTail line through iterations of the OneTail+ and OneTail Classic. The culmination of this constant development and series of improvements has now been packaged into Craft&Ride's ultimate foot pad, the OneTail Extreme.
The OneTail Extreme makes an incredible experience even better by replacing the existing flat rear stock foot pad with a concave foot pad. The OneTail Extreme is only designed to replace the rear stock foot pad of the Onewheel, not the front stock foot pad.
The OneTail Extreme has 2X the concave of all other concave foot pads on the market. Not only does the OneTail Extreme have the most side-to-side concave out of all foot pads, it also has the perfect amount of kick to keep your foot locked in during every ride. We've also designed a heel pocket at the edge of the foot pad between the side and kick to rest your heel into while you ride.
The OneTail Extreme is equipped with our all new Craft&Ride Grip Tape.
With this new addition, in combination with the OneTail Extreme's concave shape, the OneTail Extreme relieves foot fatigue by allowing your foot to work less and ride more. Your toes and heel now do all of the work against the concave shape of the OneTail Extreme, not your entire foot and leg. This relieves the foot fatigue you experience with the stock foot pad. Carve (ride in an S-shape trajectory) with your OneTail Extreme for the greatest reduction in foot fatigue. Your foot rests comfortably in the OneTail Extreme's deep spoon-like pocket and is supported by the low grit of Craft&Ride Grip Tape.
The OneTail Extreme introduces a level of control and responsiveness that will change your experience forever.
The combination of Craft&Ride Grip Tape, extreme side-to-side concave, and extreme kick creates a newfound control that will change the way riders push the Onewheel sport forward. Your foot will be locked into the OneTail Extreme's deep pocket and you will be in control of your Onewheel like never before!
Craft&Ride Grip Tape:
The OneTail Extreme is equipped with Craft&Ride Grip Tape. Craft&Ride Grip Tape is in a league of its own. With our low grit proprietary formula, we've perfectly spaced rock-like granules to provide just the right amount of space for the grooves of your shoes to stay locked in, without sacrificing the ability to adjust your feet. Our low grit design is everything you need beneath your feet. Read more about Craft&Ride Grip Tape here.
The OneTail Extreme Blackout Kit is now available at no extra charge. If you’ve ever wanted to black out your foot pads, this is the perfect kit for you. Simply select "Yes" under the "Blackout Kit" drop-down menu to receive this kit.
The Blackout Kit includes:
- OneTail Extreme in Black (pre-painted)
- Craft&Ride Grip Tape for your front foot pad
- Craft&Ride Blackout Marker
- Craft&Ride and C&R Blackout Stickers
This Blackout Kit does not require you to remove, tamper, or interfere with the sensor on your front stock foot pad. You will simply sand down the wood surrounding your sensor in order to paint it perfectly, without the need to come into contact with your sensor.
How to black out your front stock foot pad:
Use 80 grit sand paper to sand by hand and remove the finish on the top and sides of your front stock foot pad without coming in contact with your sensor. Then, use 120 grit sand paper or finer for an even smoother surface. If you are using a power sander, only the 120 grit sand paper or finer will be enough. Clean off the sanded surface of your front stock foot pad with a rag before using the paint marker.
The paint marker should be shaken well for 30-60 seconds. After taking the cap off, press down on the tip to allow the paint to come to the surface of the tip.
How it's made:
Every OneTail Extreme features unique hard maple wood that is pressed, CNC’d, hand-beveled, stained, and sealed in our California factory. Every OneTail Extreme is completed with our Craft&Ride Grip Tape, and we didn’t forget about the rest of your Onewheel. Every OneTail Extreme comes with an extra piece of Craft&Ride Grip Tape for your front foot pad! Now your entire Onewheel is freshly gripped.

Wood is beautiful look and it is certainly more comfortable and functional than stock. Grip tape alone is big step up. Less changes noted with foot fatigue than expected, but definitely more comfortable and smoother carves. Good buy!
Matches the Original Onewheel wood foot pad look perfectly but is much more comfortable. Everything I have gotten from you guys is top notch!
You guys really "dot all your i's and cross all your t's"! Your systems really create a great customer experience.
I love the feel of my rear foot on this pad when riding. It feels super solid and really sucked in.
Reduces foot numbness for slightly longer rides, makes bmy xr more nimble too. Easy install and highly recommended.
I've only been on my OneWheel for about a month, but I've been thinking of replacing the rear foot pad since the second week. Other than the usual rail guards and fender add-ons, my top priority for upgrade has been the tire. However, the models I want continue to be on backorder so I went ahead with my second priority: more concavity for the foot pad.
I've been hesitating for two reasons: 1st, I was unsure about going with a 3rd party as I didn't want to have mismatched grip tape (don't want to risk changing the front foot pad grip tape while still under warranty); 2nd, I was unsure of the amount of concavity I wanted. My thinking on the latter is that I'm a novice and I thought of the "extreme concavity" as an advanced feature. I'm so wrong on that. As a novice, I have instead found that the extreme concavity helps me find my foot position more easily as well as giving me more confidence in my control. Perhaps an advanced rider would find other advantages to the degree of concavity and I can't speak to that; I can say that I was mistaken in thinking that "exxtreme" meant "novices stay away".
As for the mismatched grip tape, it simply isn't a concern and while C&R provides grip tape for the front pad, it doesn't really impact my riding experience at all to have different tape on the front.
I don't notice much difference in foot fatigue, just better overall board feel and control.
The Extreme Concave Footpad feels great under foot and is helpful with carve responsiveness!
